Employers

We are keen to develop links with local employers in order to give our pupils work related learning experience throughout their five years at Hummersknott. It is important students get the opportunity to link the skills learnt at Hummersknott and how they transfer into the work.

Each year, year 9 and year 11 pupils are given the opportunity to attend the annual careers convention. This is an ideal opportunity for students to meet colleges, higher education institutions and employers- where they can gain further knowledge on what opportunities they may have.

Further to this we run two World of Work days- where year 7 and year 8, get the opportunity to understand what skills are needed for the world of work; start thinking about what they may like to do in the future. We like to invite local employers to deliver talks, informing students on what opportunities may be available to them in the future.

If you or your colleagues would like to support us with this important work, please contact Amanda Calloway (zcw@hummersknott.org.uk) or Caroline Tindale (atd@hummersknott.org.uk).

Technical and Further Education Act 2017

Under this act we are required to ensure there is an opportunity for a range of education and training providers to access pupils during the relevant phase of their education for the purpose of informing them about approved technical education qualifications or apprenticeships.

Please download the Provider Access Policy for more information.
