Emotional & Social Needs

Hummersknott Academy recognises the need to support students who, whilst not on the academy SEND register, are presenting with emotional or social difficulties at a given time, or as a result of specific causal factors.

Additional support offers are listed below:

Pastoral support via Form Tutors and /or Year Managers
School counsellors
ELSA support / ELSA Centre
Referrals to outside agencies e.g. CAMHS
Drawing and Talking therapy
Designated quiet spaces during breaks and lunchtimes
Supported social environments e.g. Achievement Centre
School Nurse
Transition support
Attendance support

Please contact your child’s Form Tutor and Year Manager with any concerns – they will be in a position to refer you and your child to the most appropriate service or member of staff.
