Year 7 & 8
It is never too early to start to talking about your child’s future and career ideas. Below is a link to what is covered in Year 7 & 8 and how you can best support your child.
Year 7 and 8 Careers Provision
Year 9
Year 9 is an important year of your child’s academic future. It is the first time they start to make important decision about their future, by choosing their options. As an Academy we are here to support your child and yourself, through the whole process.
The process will start with subject teachers talking to your son/daughter about the subject qualification on offer; there will be a further chance to talk to subjects’ teachers at the options evening. Finally, you will be invited to a counselling appointment, where you will talk through your child’s options with a member of SLT.
Dates for the events will be available in the ‘Key Dates’ tab, within the Careers page.
Year 10
Year 10 will see the start of pupils focusing in on Post 16 options, year 10 will be used for pupils to gain a real understanding into what is on offer and to explore which route maybe best for them.

Year 11
Year 11 is a crucial year for all students. It is a very busy year, with lots of decisions to be made. Students need to be proactive in their decision making: visiting college open dates, researching their options etc.
